The ubiquity of technology has transformed education, making online learning part of the “new norm.” Over the past few years, online enrollments in higher education have continued to grow in the US. Online enrollments are being driven by the growing number of students who are seeking flexible formats for courses, certificates, and degree programs to support career placement, advancement, and transition as well as to pursue advanced studies. Increasingly, students enrolled in on-campus programs are also registering for hybrid to fully online courses throughout their enrollment.

In this edition, we had the following distinguished guests as panelists on our discussion.

Dr Ryan Fink - Associate Professor of Biology. @St. Cloud State University

Dr. Fink is currently an Associate Professor of Biology at St. Cloud State University. He has been involved in academic research, teaching, and coaching of students in various capacities since 1997. During this period Dr. Fink conducted research in the areas of microbiology, molecular biology, and food-borne pathogens resulting in the publication of several research articles and conference proceedings. In the last ten years, he has been able to secure extramural funding for his research activities either via public grants or private collaborative research agreements. At the same time, he taught classes and coached students through their research activities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at the University of Milan, North Carolina State University, and at the University of Minnesota. 

 

Rahul Kane - Professor @Century College, Minnesota State institution and a visiting faculty for the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Professor Rahul Kane is a tenured faculty for Century College, Minnesota State institution, and a visiting faculty for the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota. His research background is in molecular biology and epidemiology and has worked extensively in the field of online education. Professor Kane has developed and teaches several Hybrid and Online Science courses including Human Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Microbiology, and other Biology subjects.
