A leading rural development non-profit uses Vowel to train farmers in their own language, deliver professional courses to its staff, and sell courses online, an inclusive, localised learning platform built around the people who use it.
Many farmers were not comfortable navigating an English, desktop-style interface, so the experience had to speak their language, literally. Rural learners also struggled to remember usernames and passwords, which risked shutting them out before learning even began. Beyond farmer training, the organisation wanted to offer employees professional courses from an external provider, playing seamlessly inside the LMS, and needed a secure way to sell some courses online and track purchases.
Vowel shaped the platform around the organisation's mission, meeting farmers in their own language and comfort zone, delivering professional courses to staff, and opening a secure channel to offer courses for sale. The entire platform was translated into local languages, login was enabled through a simple mobile OTP, and a third-party course provider was integrated so professional courses play smoothly within the LMS with full tracking.
